Clean – Free Choice
Through this challenge I have tried to add every room in the house and some of the items that need a good clean (such as the washing machine and oven). But every home is different and I may have missed a room in your home. Use today to spend time cleaning that forgotten room, area or item. What will you be cleaning today?

Cleaning Checklist
Use this checklist to help you maintain your beautifully organised and clean home. This checklist includes daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual tasks. Use the blank weekly cleaning planner to create a routine to suit the time you have available.
The cleaning checklist is available in my shop in two new designs. Use coupon code 20dayscleancheck to get 20% off at checkout. Click here to download
Declutter – Freezer
I often freeze left over meals as single portions or make double batches and freeze as a whole meal so I get a night off cooking on a busy day and you will always find some baking amongst my freezer shelves. Today’s task is to go through your freezer and remove anything that has passed it’s freezer use-by date, such as meat. If you find some food or meals that need using soon add them to this weeks meal plan. By clearing the old food from your freezer will give you room to add a few meals so you can have some nights off cooking and make room for some baking that can be added to lunch boxes.
I keep all my fruit and veg in containers to prevent freezer burn and the green basket on the left hold my frozen bananas.

I always keep biscuits in the freezer for lunch boxes

Organise – Baking Day
As I mentioned above, you will always find baking in my freezer. I always add something baked to the lunchboxes like a muffin or biscuits. I usually always bake with the intention to freeze. By placing it in the freezer the day I bake it means that it is just as fresh when defrosted. I place the frozen muffin/biscuits into lunch boxes that morning and it’s always defrosted by morning tea time. I spend an hour or two in the kitchen every few weeks to stock up the freezer. You can read more about my baking day process here.
Organise some time for you to bake some muffins or cookies for your freezer to have on hand when unexpected visitors drop by or for lunch boxes. The major benefit of this is you are saving money rather than purchasing store-bought items.
I have released my new Lunch Box Recipes Cookbook, which has all my favourite lunch box recipes that I cook my kids. Each of these recipes is freezer friendly for you to make for lunch boxes or to have on hand for after-school snacks. Rather than scrolling through my blog for recipes, they are all now conveniently in one place, click here to purchase.

Hello Kat, I am an older housecleaner, 70 years old with a very painful back injury. I have not been able to keep up with all the daily cleaning tasks, but have divided them into 2 days to complete. But, it has been so positive to me as I previously didn’t try too hard for a clean house, which has been stressful. What a difference on many levels, I am more active now as I am determined to complete your program, also I had to go away for a few days and when I returned, opened the door to heaven, that’s when I noticed the difference and I am now so eager to get on with it! Thank you, heaps!
Ooh Gwendalyn for you to come home and notice a difference is amazing. Sometimes it so hard to see when you see it each day, I love that you are taking your time and eventually getting through it.
Hey Kat, Have loved the challenge, so does my family!! Im doing mine as a 20 week challenge to fit in with work and might give you some idea of the size of the job at hand. My question is this… am I going to still be able to access the challenge pages after the challenge is done. I have printed off each days sheets but so far , as each room comes up, I go back and re- read all you have to say on each day, following links and reading more. Just wonder if Im still going to be able to access to continue to do this after the 20 days is up.

Hi Robyn, yes you will be able to access everything whenever it suits you, next week, next month etc, as you have lifetime access 😉
Thanks so much for this fabulous programme! Love it! I’ve still got a fair bit to do but the new habits that you suggest have made a big difference. I love opening my linen and kitchen cupboards now, gives such a feeling of accomplishment. Now that this Brisbane heatwave is abating, hopefully I’ll get back on track! I look forward to gleaning more tips as I follow along with your daily blog.
this is so wonderful to read Rhonda, have you managed to keep on top of it since you completed all 20 days?
My house is still a work in progress but I’m wrapped with the cleaning and organising I’ve done to date. Will definitely continue and have the place organised by the time the Christmas tree is up! Thanks for such a practical, helpful, challenge 🙂
This is fabulous news Carmel, so pleased you enjoyed the challenge x
Cleaned my twins bedroom as final room and completed kitchen cupboards.
So happy with the end result and have such a great feeling looking in all of
my organised cupboards. Have not been this organised all at once since my major nesting right before having my twins. Thank you so much Kat.
Ooh I love it, and that you can look at your achievements and feel proud and happy!! Now you just need to maintain it regularly glancing in those cupboards and tidying up when need be.
Hi Kat thanks for a wonderful program. I am a little behind due to family colds but I am happily plodding along and 100% determined to complete every task. I have implemented so many of your ideas and routines I’m already feeling quite organised.
Thanks again
Lisa
Hi Kat,
I’m still working my way through and catching up on the days I missed. How long do we have access to the site for?
You have lifetime access Blaire, so you can pop in and out whenever you want 😉
I DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂 What a challenge – it is unbelievable and TOTALLY worth it! Yes, I am buggered to say the least and at 6.30pm, I have literally finished the last job and now enjoying a glass of red 😉 (a little something to celebrate). I’ve put out a dining table runner I bought pre-kids and put my metal owl ornament on there (my Mothers’ Day gift), finally put up 2 mermaid water colours I bought my daughter about 3 years ago in the bathroom, updated her room to suit more of a tween (she asked me to get Justin Bieber music for her – eek!), kept up with my new habits and just loving my “new” house. Many thanks Kat for this opportunity which I needed in my life. I am a true believer of Things Happen for a Reason and this challenge came just at the right time. I have told my friends of this challenge and they are keen to jump on board. Thanks again Kat, I couldn’t have got my house/life/family back in order without you xx
A very well deserved glass of red Ness! I agree about how fascinating it is that some things do happen at the right time.
Thank you so much for this challenge, Kat. Although I am far from finished, I have made considerable headway with both my house and my routines. I’m definitely feeling better about my house and within myself. Your step by step approach to tasks has made something insurmountable, become achievable, and I now look forward to coming home from a busy day at work and relaxing in a clean, organised and welcoming space. Thank you again for helping me along this journey!
This is great feedback Kim and it’s so humbling to hear you are enjoying the space you have around you 🙂
Well I have officially finished the challenge and I am so happy with the results! Thank you Kat for a wonderful program. I will certainly be recommending this to friends and family. How often do you run these challenges?
Hoping I manage to keep up with maintenance once bub arrives but all my checklists are in place and I’m feeling confident! 🙂
I’m so glad that you managed to finish it all before bub arrives Rebecca, and now you get to sit back, put your feet up and relax. I will run this again around September. Wishing you all the best for a safe and painfree arrival for bub x
Thanks Kat! I will let people know that September is the next one! 🙂
