Day 12

by Kat - The Organised Housewife August 9, 2014September 19, 2018

Clean – Dishwasher

Our dishwasher is used once a day.  It usually cleans our breakfast dishes, dinner plates, cups, mugs and cutlery.  With all this, there isn’t enough room for anything else.  However, after time the dishwasher itself gets a little grotty and needs a good clean.

Cleaning task

Today’s cleaning task is to clean your dishwasher:

{The Organised Housewife} How to Clean a dishwasher 1

I use a clean & dirty dishwasher label to help alert the family if the dishes are clean or dirty.  I use this as a subtle way of saying “the dishes are clean, so please unpack the dishwasher for me!”

Label is available in my shop.  Use coupon code 20daysdish to download for FREE (saving $2.95) Click here to download

Declutter – Bathroom Cupboards

Todays task is to declutter your bathroom cupboards, throwing away items that are broken, you have not used in over a year or have expired ie perfumes, lotions and makeup all have an expiry date.  Find more details here about these expiry dates.

See how I organised one of my friends bathroom cupboards here.

Organise – Bathroom Cupboards

Make it easier for yourself to find something the next time you are looking in your cupboard.

Plastic storage baskets are great to hold lotions, soaps and shampoos so if they leak it’s easy to wipe clean.

Many thanks for the free download Kat. Since Day 8 when I did our family responsibility system the children have been unloading the dishwasher in the morning (all three of them – ages 3, 6, and 9). They love it and now that they can put the label on the front of the dishwasher they’ll love it even more 🙂

Finally completed day 12!!! Was on such a roll and then my daughter, who is special needs, had an accident and has been off school so I have got nothing done!!! Thankfully I managed to get the dishwasher done at the end of day 11 ( thanks for tip about cleaning along the inside edge with a toothbrush!!!!!????) and now I’ve just managed to sort the bathroom cupboards whilst she’s having a sleep! Yay!!!!!
