I left this one till one of the last tasks as the kids bedroom may take you a little longer than a day to tackle. Today’s cleaning task is to do the following in your bedroom:

Declutter – Kids Bedroom
Kids bedrooms can easily accumulate so much ‘stuff’, items they bring home from school, all their toys, books, pieces of paper or clothes, today we are going to do a general declutter of their room.
Donate or store away for hand me downs the following from the kids rooms:
- Small clothes
- Shoes that are too small
- Toys they have outgrown
- Books they have outgrown
Throw out:
- Rubbish
- Paper clutter
- Broken toys
I store out of season and hand me down clothes in the tops of the kids wardrobes.

My eldest keeps some of her baby toys in a box in the top of her cupboard

Organise – Kids Bedrooms
My kids keep their shared toys in their toy room and their own toys in their bedrooms. Toys are kept in their wardrobes hidden behind doors. Except for Mr 11’s Lego, his lego has pride of place in his bedroom, sorted and displayed for him to easily play with.
See here how he displays his lego and read here for more lego storage ideas
The one area in Miss Tweens bedroom to keep tidy is her desk, read further to see how I tweenified her bedroom. I also have a dislike for desks in bedrooms.

The one area that I love in my youngest daughters bedroom is the under bed storage, she has two under bed plastic boxes with lids from ikea.

and I love these dots on her wall, available online here, they have really brightened her room.

Tip: As much as I would love to straighten the kids beds after they have made them, I resist because a) They have put in the effort, for that I am grateful, and b) I don’t have time.

Ok – just saw your link to your shop for the Checklists in Day 20… will check them out!
OMG… so close to the end! I’ve de-stickered 2 kids’ bedrooms and in the process of turning one into a tween’s room! I love the ideas you have shared on your blog about tweenifing your daughters’ room 🙂 You know what Kat? I’ve been having the best nights sleep these past few weeks – I just roll into bed and I’m gone lol… do you have anything at the end giving ideas on when to do what (eg: clean walls once a year etc…)? Thanks again Kat 🙂 🙂 🙂
Hi Ness, this is so great to hear that you are sleeping well, I am very pleased that this challenged has really helped you 🙂
Great ideas Kat. Can I ask where you got those dark wicker storage boxes from. I need them for my sons room
Hi Rachel, Aren’t they lovely? I got the wicker baskets from Howards Storage World.
