Clean – Light switches and door handles
Today’s cleaning task is simple, using one of your homemade antibacterial wipes or a microfibre cloth dampened with all purpose cleaner, wipe over all your light switches and door handles to remove dirt and germ build up. Don’t forget the light switch in the garage or wardrobes! See step by step instructions here.

Declutter – Medicine Cabinet
Go through your medicine cabinet or box:

Organise – Medicines
Organise your first aid kit, medication, scripts, lotions and band aids so you can easily find items the next time. Print the Emergency Contact printable and add to your medicine kit or a noticeboard near your phone.

I have a few boxes for medicines/first aid items:
- Scripts
- Kids & adults medication
- Medicine cups
- Bandaid’s, bandages etc.
- Vitamins
I used to store all our adult and kids medications separate, however I wanted an extra tupperware container to store bakers flour so now store all my medications together, it works.

Contents for a Basic First Aid Kit:

Medicines should be stored high out of the reach of children, I keep ours on the top shelf of the pantry. I find this is a central location, easy to get to in a hurry. I keep my vitamins in a plastic basket so it’s easy to take off the shelf and access each day.

New Habit – Junk Mail
Throw out junk mail as soon as you have read it.

I regularly thin out my medicine chest for expired pharmaceuticals so this one is under control for me.
love it, I went through mine recently and found a cough medicine past due.
And another day done 🙂 I found using an old toothbrush helped heaps when cleaning the light switches. Yep, feeling great – but knackered lol…. so proud that I have stuck this out – COME ON DAY 20!!!! 🙂 🙂
Today is day 20 Ness, hope you can finish today and sit back and enjoy the amazing work you have accomplished!
Catching up again after a few set backs but I confess, today was a bit easy because hubby is a paramedic and he is in charge of all the first aid supplies in the house – he keep the first aid kit very well stocked!
You would have a very well stocked kit then Rebecca!!
Hi, will this all still be up if I want to start my 20 day challenge next week ? Or do I need to print out everything now ?? My hubby just had his hip replaced last week and I have a toddler. I bought the deluxe pack. Thanks
Yes you have lifetime access Belinda, so you can open any page and print whenever you want and need to 🙂
Managed to tick all this one off nice and quickly as I’d already sorted the medicine cabinet when organising the bathroom cupboards. Thankfully, it’s give me extra time to try and catch up!!
Love it!!
Just did the medicine cabinets – I have a whole carrier bag full of out of date medications for the pharmacist to dispose of. Have seperated everything out into labelled baskets so it should be easier to find everything when we need it.
Fantastic! Great job, Julie.:)
wow, wow, wow, I have already completed today’s tasks and it is only 8am 😀
(Only because I have my medicines ultra organised anyway) But I still checked for expiry dates (1) and checked my scripts (need to renew 3) Am very glad for the reminder 🙂
Did the light switches, handles and couch before the girls got up as much as I could, and have done their handles and switches while they are getting dressed 🙂
Feeling great!
(But still have many days to catch up on – have hardly started yesterday’s tasks!?)
Wow you are absolutely onto it Kaycee!!
Love your tips Nicki, thank you! I too am putting emesis bags on my shopping list – I’ve only had one car trip with a vomiting child and the memories of the stench and the washing are burned in – yuck!
After 12 years as a Paramedic, here’s my tips to add to your First Aid Kit:
– A great item to add to your First Aid kit is a splinter probe- they are great for getting out the kids splinters, and you can also get disposable ones.
– Keep a spare sanitary pad in your first aid kit- they are super absorbent and great for heavy bleeding in case of major injury, as well as being way cheaper than trauma pads, which is the first aid version.
– Frozen peas do just as well for an ice pack, and they’re way cheaper than a commercial Ice Pack. When my kids were younger, I would add an ice pack to our Esky for the park. It did double duty keeping the drinks cold and was there if required for injury
– Syringe- most child’s medicines require precise measurement and this is easier than a measuring cup with no waste! Chemists often hand them out for free!
– Ditch the burn creme- burns are best treated with running water. Putting cremes on top of burns just coats them and can seal in the heat, therefore worsening the burn. And never put butter or toothpaste on burns! (I have seen this done- very painful!)
– Clean, unused Snaplock bags- in case of amputation of fingers etc, having a clean, sterile Snap-lock bag on hand is essential. Pop the digit in the bag and then put the bag on ice.
Finally, my number 1 must have First Aid item is an Emesis Bag! This is a vomit bag with a plastic ring on top to secure the contents to stop spillage. I have one beside every bed and in the car in front of the kids seats. They have saved me innumerable times from cleaning vomit off car seats, carpets and beds. Buy them from the chemist- worth their weight in washing not required to wash!
Hi Nicki, WOW thank you so much for sharing these wonderful tips! Your insight is greatly appreciated.:) I absolutely love the tip on having the Emesis bag on standby!
Thanks Nicki! Some really great tips that I am going to take on board. I have snap-lock bags in my first aid kit :). Will try and source the Emesis bag and do the same!
Some of this I knew, some I didn’t
thank you, thank you, thank you!
Hi Kat I am again having trouble accessing the site with the weekly list on it. It says “this page you are looking for cannot be found”. Thank you again for all your work. I love all my sheets and the lists. Can you tell me how I put a photo up here. I have a storage problem in my bathroom. I rent a two bedroom unit for my granddaughter and myself. The bathroom and laundry are one. I have storage behind a small mirror over sink. And a small cupboard over the washing machine. No cupboard under the sink. I put a plastic set of drawers under there but I could only get black and it is a dust catcher. I was wondering if you had any ideas. It would be good if I could show you a picture. Thank you.
Hi Christine, Just wanting to make sure you have the lists up and running? Ok to upload photos on to facebook.Take your pictures and then press the upload here, they may take a few minutes to show up. Hopefully i will receive them soon.:)
Hi I am new to all of this so I will get my daughter to help with photos. I just tried the list on day 17. Still not working. Thank you for your help. I will check again tomorrow.
