The pre tasks are a series of activities that you will need to complete to help you be ready and prepared for the 20 days, such as creating a routine you can follow during the 20 days and beyond, putting together a cleaning bucket so you have all products needed for each of the cleaning tasks etc.
ACCESSING LINKS AND DOWNLOADS
You will see throughout the challenge that I share additional links back to The Organised Housewife blog as well as downloadable printables. To open the link for more tips or to download the files simply click on the link and they will take you to view further information or to open downloads. These links are pink text like this.
WHAT TO EXPECT EACH DAY OF THE CHALLENGE?
Each day consists of the following tasks:
- Clean
- Organise
- Declutter
- New Habit
- 5 minutes only
The 5 minute only task doesn’t need to be completed each day. This task is for when you mmay beon the phone, or have a few spare minutes to tidy up an area. Please don’t spend too much time on this, 5 minutes max!!
WHAT IF I DON’T HAVE ENOUGH TIME?
I know that everybody has different aged or number of children, schedules or work commitments so please adapt these tasks around your time and family. If you are not able to complete one of them that is perfectly OK, it can be finished at a different time.
WHY 20 DAYS?
A 4 week period is a good starting block to get your home under control. I have set tasks for five out of the seven days each week. I don’t believe in cleaning every single day, we need to take time out (weekends or a days of your choice) to spend time with family and enjoying the outdoors. Please do not feel pressured to complete all the day’s task in the one day, if you can’t that’s fine, push this 20 days to 40 days if you need. Make this challenge work around your schedule.

Hi, just signed up for the 20 day challenge a few days ago so getting all the pre- challenges set to do this weekend 🙂 Just wondering how do we get access to the Facebook page and also do we just follow the weeks ourselves or do you email the weekly tasks at the start of a new week? Thank you 🙂
Hi lovely, they will be sent to you each day and you can access the facebook group here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/toh20daychallenge/
Ok. All organised. Ready for the 20 day challenge! I have xmas at my house this year, we are also renovating and I’m launching a new business in a month. I need this!!
Hi Kat, I have just signed up so a little behind in the pre challenge tasks. Just wondering if u close the tasks off at a certain time? Or do they stay open?? Thanks
Hi Jodie, you have lifetime access to all the tasks, You will find that there are some weeks which are locked, but as they unlock you then have access to go back to view them whenever you want 🙂
OMG, I’m feeling so excited and so full of dread ALL AT THE SAME TIME. Stay calm and focus. Take one step at a time – I think that’s the key – then hopefully I won’t become overwhelmed.
You’re exactly right Christine, just one step at a time! Don’t let yourself become overwhelmed – deep breaths, you are doing great 🙂
Hi Kat, I completed the 20 day challenge in 2013 and loved it! I remember the first task was to clean under the kitchen sink. It hasn’t been cleaned since. I’m so looking forward to getting on top of things again and hopefully sticking with the ‘staying on top of things’. When someone drops by unannounced, I go in to a panic. I’m ready to go! Cheers, Carrie
I am so glad you are back and redoing it Carrie!! The kitchen sink can be one of those areas where everything just get’s thrown in. I’ve updated some of the eCourse since 2013, I have a feeling you’ll love my new under sink cupbord organising ideas!!
Hi Kat – how do I join the 20 day challenge FB group please?
Hi Tammy, There was a click through button on the email to take you through to the Facebook page, although I will add you to it now
I was just wondering, I’m revisiting your website to do this challenge for about the third time. Have you updated your photos to include ideas from your new house or is everything still the same if you are just starting out as a new ‘challenger’?
Hi Sherelle, just the same, although, there have been a few days I have updated, Day 1 and Day 2 are top of mind. 🙂
Round 3 for me again.
This will help me get organized and declutter and ready for our renovations on our house. Can’t wait.
The 5 day ecourse helped get ready as well.
M
Wonderful, which rooms are you renovating?
Pre challenge tasks done, I have even printed out my checklists and tasks ready to start on Monday. i organised under my sink after last weeks mini 5 day challenge, so will be organising another cupboard in the kitchen that is driving me insane. Feeling motivated, thank you 🙂
love it, your a step ahead Erena 🙂
Just signed up tonight after ummmming and arrrrring for a week and lots of catching up to do on the pre challenge tasks! I’m pregnant & due in 7 weeks and have found I simply can’t be bothered doing anything except sleep … so I was worried I would be wasting this opportunity.
I thoroughly enjoyed the 5 day eCourse especially engaging with the ladies on the Facebook page and especially that you were so involved with the group too Kat 🙂
Kat, I was wondering which brand of essential oils do you love the most & recommend?
Ooh this is so fabulous to hear Danielle, I use Thursday Plantation oils. They have eucalyptus, tea tree, lavender, lemon etc, available at the supermarket and chemists. However my favourite smelling oil, pink grapefruit (not from Thursday plantation) is no longer available. A few friends of mine have started up as Deterra oil consultants which I am yet to try, but I hear great reviews about them and a good range.
